Rising Phoenix

Well I drew this in about 3 and a 1/2 hours, yeah, really emotional and determined at the time. I basically scanned the sketch in to photoshop and messed around with the colors. I added a more interesting yet typical airbrush look to the feathers. I hope that someday I'll be able to fly away from my painful present. Lots of interesting things happening right now. This is symbolic of hope I guess. Some glint of hope in the dark, I'm trying so hard to see it and fly towards it. The light is getting dimmer and dimmer. Soon all I'll have is the erie echos of my wing beats in the dark. Tis painful, but I shall fly on, even in darkness... alas to never rest or find peace.

I just don't get it, why do so many people love this one? Its not near my best and people faved it more than my other works. Just curious thats all.
